Fairytale: The Pig and the Witch

One of the great things about figuring out characters through roleplay is that other characters often ask questions, or lead your character to a conversation where they’ll talk about or explain something about your world that you never thought of before.

This is also one of the difficult things, because you’re now sitting at the computer trying to explain the workings of an airship, or the habits of an uncle you didn’t even know your character had. Two of the characters Miss Moonstone and I roleplay as have taken a liking to telling one another stories from their respective worlds, which means I need to scramble around trying to think of fairytales and myths. I’m not sure if Moonstone scrambles the same way, but that’s my guess. πŸ™‚

So here’s one that I came up with as I was telling it. : P

30: Of Google and Gods

Today in class we talked about Googling ourselves, because we all want to be teachers and to be a teacher you practically have to have an absolutely perfect track record. Like, you’d be better off just spawning into the classroom because if you so much as curse online you’ll be canned. Maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but if you go out and have a glass of wine at a restaurant parents will be like… I saw Miss so-and-so… and she was drinking.Β  </horror>

29: Headaches and Cures

As someone with very sensitive eyes, I get a lot of light-related headaches. I know what causes them because they always happen when I’ve spent a lot of time looking at a screen in poor lighting, or when it’s really bright out. As such, I have a bunch of headache cures that I would like to share with you… because I had a headache today and it was horrible.

  1. Water. A lot of times you get a headache because you’re dehydrated, or so I’m told. And if that’s not the case, putting a cold bottle against your head can work too.
  2. Sleeping. Sometimes I just go to bed and hope I feel better in the morning. It usually works.
  3. Mind games. Just tell yourself that you’re not REALLY in pain and it’s all in your head. Requires a great deal of mental discipline.
  4. Vinegar and water. Moonstone showed this one to me today. I think it tastes horrible.
  5. Caffeine. I just get ginger ale because that’s what my parents always gave me. Failing that, I get Dr. Pepper because it has Dr. in the name. It has to be good for you.
  6. Actual medicine. I try to avoid this because I don’t trust medicine. There’s nasty-looking side effects on those things, so I try to only take the stuff if I really have to. School did a bit *too* well when it was teaching me to stay away from drugs.
  7. Tea. I don’t know. I heard it works though and tea sounds like the cure for anything.
  8. Chocolate. I heard chocolate cures headaches once… or I think I did. It may just be a placebo thing for me… but it’s a wonderful placebo. I’ll never complain about a cure if it’s chocolate.
  9. Vaughn. I swear, pretending to nuzzle my head in a fictional character’s chest made all the difference. Vaughn is indeed a god.

21: Procrastination

I’m a bad, bad girl. I was supposed to write a post yesterday… not that I specifically said I’d have one up every day, but I’d like to… and I didn’t. I was supposed to do my homework yesterday… and I didn’t. I was supposed to work on my story yesterday, and I did very little of that. So, what did I do yesterday?

17: Have You Novelled a Ferret Today?

This here is the picture that started it all. During our write-ins this year, we received NaNo kits with lots of neat little goodies. Part of the kit was a small envelope full of pictures worth a thousand words. While we all got different pictures, there was one picture that was in every envelope. Meet Charlie.

Birthday Wishes

I would like to wish the ever-lovely Miss Moonstone a very happy birthday, and I suppose I can wish the rest of the world a reasonably decent unbirthday while I’m at it. Unless, of course, it is their birthday and they are not Miss Moonstone, because the odds that Miss Moonstone is the only one with a birthday today are probably extremely hard to calculate. I wouldn’t know, I have not yet taken Prob and Stats. Although actually I know the probability is 0 because one of my Facebook friends also has a birthday today.

Mordecai and I wished Miss Moonstone a very happy birthday already, but I decided not to let all my other characters do it on Facebook because then we’d both look crazy. So I’ll do that here. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
